Privacy Policy

This document establishes the Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") for the handling of personal information of users in the iOS/Android app "Shogi Alex" (hereinafter referred to as the "Service").

Article 1 (Personal Information)

"Personal Information" refers to information about a living individual, which can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, and other descriptions included in the information, as well as data related to physical characteristics, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual from the information alone, such as the insurer number of a health insurance card.

Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)

When using the Service, users may be asked to provide personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, and other information when registering for use. In addition, the Service may collect transaction records and payment information, including user's personal information, from partners such as information providers, advertisers, and ad distributors (hereinafter referred to as "Partners").

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which the Service collects and uses personal information are as follows:

1. For the provision and operation of the Service
2. To respond to inquiries from users (including verification of identity)
3. To send emails containing information about new features, updates, campaigns, etc., of the services being used by the user and other services provided by the Service
4. For maintenance, important notices, and other necessary communications
5. To identify users who violate the terms of use or who attempt to use the Service for illegal or unfair purposes and to refuse their use

Article 4 (Change of Purpose of Use)

1. The Service may change the purpose of use of personal information only to the extent that it is reasonably related to the purpose before the change.
2. If the Service changes the purpose of use, it will notify users of the new purpose by the method specified by the Service or by posting it on this website.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

1. Except as otherwise provided by laws and regulations, the Service will not provide personal information to third parties without the user's consent, except in the following cases:
   1. When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person
   2. When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the healthy upbringing of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person
   3. When it is necessary for a national institution or a local public entity or an individual entrusted by them to carry out the affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the person is likely to impede the performance of such affairs
   4. When the Service has notified the user in advance or publicly announced the following items, and has obtained the user's consent:

      2. The items of data to be provided to third parties
      3. The means or methods of providing data to third parties
      4. Procedures for stopping the provision of personal information to third parties at the request of the user
      5. How to respond to requests from the user
2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the provision destination of the information shall not be considered a third party in the following cases:
   1. When the Service entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary for achieving the purpose of use
   2. When personal information is provided as a result of a merger or other reasons for the succession of business
   3. When personal information is used jointly with a specific person, and the Service notifies the user in advance of the items of personal information to be used jointly, the scope of persons who will use the information, the purpose of use by the user, and the name or title of the person responsible for the management of the personal information, or makes this information readily available to the user

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

1. When a user requests the disclosure of personal information held by the Service, the Service will promptly disclose it to the user. However, if the disclosure of personal information falls under any of the following, the Service may not disclose all or part of it, and will promptly notify the user of the decision not to disclose:
   1. When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the user or a third party
   2. When there is a risk of seriously hindering the proper implementation of the Service's business
   3. When it would violate other laws and regulations
2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the Service will not disclose information other than personal information, such as browsing history and characteristic information, in principle.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

1. If a user's personal information held by the Service is incorrect, the user may request the Service to correct, add, or delete (hereinafter referred to as "Correction, etc.") the personal information in accordance with the procedure specified by the Service.
2. If the Service determines that it is necessary to respond to a request under the preceding paragraph, it will promptly carry out the Correction, etc. of the personal information.
3. If the Service carries out Correction, etc. based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or if it decides not to carry out Correction, etc., it will promptly notify the user of this.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.)

1. If a user requests the suspension of use, etc. of personal information on the grounds that the personal information is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use or has been obtained by fraudulent means, the Service will promptly conduct necessary investigations.
2. Based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, if the Service determines that it is necessary to respond to the user's request, it will promptly suspend the use, etc. of the personal information.
3. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding two paragraphs, if it is difficult to take measures to suspend use, etc. due to the high cost or other reasons, and if it is possible to take alternative measures to protect the rights and interests of the user, the Service will take such alternative measures.

Article 9 (Change of Privacy Policy)

1. The contents of this Policy may be changed without prior notice to the user, except for matters specified separately in this Policy or by law and regulations.
2. Except as otherwise specified by the Service, the Privacy Policy after the change will take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
